It started quite simply. She was rushing somewhere and was close to being late for class, so I decided to hitch her. When I reach her place on time, she was late. Then she apologies repeatedly but was also friendly.
After that, we started texting about our day. Then I fetched her again another time, and somehow the conversations began to flow naturally. It felt right and the more I spoke to her, the more I realised how easy she was to talk to. There was no awkwardness, no need to force the conversation. It just felt comfortable.
She looked tall, carried herself well, and have a gentle presence.
The next day, she agreed to help me through the customs crossing into JB. With her there, the whole experience felt far more manageable. I had not brought a Touch ’n Go card for the entry fee, and I assumed I would be able to use the mobile app instead, but that did not work out. For a brief moment, I was stuck and unsure of what to do. Luckily, she had RM20 in cash with her and handed it to me, which allowed us to get through. In that moment, I could not help but wonder what I would have done without her.
During the journey to our destination, our conversation is about relationships, mistakes, and past experiences. As we shared our stories, I felt that we were not only reflecting on what had been, but also learning from it. This also encourage each other to grow and become better the next time round.
She left an impression on me as a genuinely lovely person, and I find myself hoping that our paths will cross again. I once read that falling in love happens by chance, but staying together is a choice. Somehow, that thought stuck with me after meeting her.
